Dear Future Homeowners,

We have a very clear memory of being where you are right now. Months pouring over MLS listings and driving from our Union City apartment with our newborn son for weekend searches around the houses of Maplewood, South Orange, and West Orange. There was a distinct feeling we had when we pulled up to this house. Everything just clicked. We felt at home here. We fell in love with the house almost as soon as we walked through the front door, but definitely by the time we saw the whole house and walked out the back door! That feeling has continued to magnify over the last five years. There is a great sense of community here in Newstead. Our neighbors have become wonderful friends, looking out for one another, sharing great food and drink, picking up packages when we're away, and caring for kids in a pinch. The kids find joy in s’mores over the fire pit, chasing fireflies, or a calming moment laying on the hammock. It’s amazing how many memories fit in this house over a short time. Beyond the front door, we’ve logged many hours sledding down Floods Hill, feeding the animals at Turtle Back Zoo, and hiking South Mountain Reservation. And if you are foodies like us, we highly recommend the Maple Bacon Sconewich at Cedar Ridge Cafe, wood-fired pizza at Arturo’s in Maplewood, wings at Tito’s Burritos in South Orange and everything on the menu at Turtle and Wolf, Faubourg or Halcyon in Montclair. We’ve taken great pride in caring for this house and adding improvements along the way. Our plan to have our son grow up in this house.
