Dear Future Homeowner,

We still remember walking through the front door for the first time. It was a beautiful spring day — sunny, warm, and full of light. Sun streamed through the windows, illuminating the stained-glass medallions and drawing us through the foyer toward the backyard deck. We were immediately struck by the secluded pool and pool deck, the screened-in porch, and the patio — all spaces that would be enjoyed throughout the warmer months. 

This more-than-100-year-old, slate-roofed beauty has sheltered our family for 38 years. It was here that we raised our now-adult children, and later welcomed grandchildren as well. Over the years, Twin Oak Road became home not only to our immediate family, but at times to multiple generations, as our adult children returned with families of their own. 

This home has always been a place for gathering — for celebrations, holidays, birthdays, and everyday moments alike. Its gracious flow lends itself beautifully to entertaining, both indoors and out. We hosted many holiday meals in the oversized dining room, often with seated dinners for more than 30 people. There were birthday parties in the finished basement, pool parties in the summer, Memorial Day celebrations, Fourth of July gatherings, and so many other joyful occasions. 

Twin Oak Road is wide, welcoming, and one of South Orange’s most elegant streets, with very little traffic. Over the years, we have come to know and cherish our lovely neighbors. We have looked out for one another through every season of life, transitioning from the “newbies” on the block to the “old-timers.” 

The house we bought so many years ago has also evolved over time through thoughtful renovations. The pool was redone, the deck retiled, and the finished basement expanded to include a workout room and a playroom for the grandchildren. We added a state-of-the-art multi-room Sonos sound system, a wireless alarm system, and transformed the primary bath into the peaceful sanctuary it is today, complete with a soaking tub, steam shower, makeup vanity, and heated floors. 

Our favorite time of year here is early spring, when we can throw open the doors in the living room and sunroom, step out onto the deck, and breathe in the fragrance of blossoming trees and flowers. The pool is open, the hot tub is calling, and the whole house seems to come alive again.

Although it is time for us to move on from this gracious home, it is our heartfelt hope that another family will love both the home and the neighborhood as much as we have. We hope it will shelter your family for generations to come, just as it did ours.
