Dear Future Homeowners

We remember exactly what it was like to be where you are right now. Nearly a year pouring over Zillow, trudging back and forth for weekend showings, and hauling our toddler in and around the houses (and playgrounds!) of Maplewood and South Orange. Something special clicked when we first set foot in this house. We felt at home here and we could picture our family’s future. That feeling has only deepened with time.

Our family of three became four, and so many beautiful memories and firsts happened in and around these four walls. From cozy winter weekends by the fire, reunions hosting beloved family and friends for the first time in years, our son’s first steps across the living room, SO MUCH summer fun with friends and neighbors on the deck and in the backyard, first days of school, rainy days running around in the basement – the list is seemingly endless. Starting the day with the early morning light twinkling into the dining room for breakfast, and ending with an impromptu backyard picnic – living in this home has brought our family so much joy.

And communities don’t get more special than this one. Neighbors look out for one another and become great friends, lemonade stands abound, and the sound of kids playing outside literally rings through the afternoon air. We have truly loved getting to know our neighbors, the amazing Prospect Preschool community down the street, and the many amazing businesses just a short walk to town or Springfield Ave. We’ve spent countless hours playing at sweet Maplecrest Park, visiting the animals at Turtle Back Zoo, and enjoying all that South Mountain Reservation has to offer. And of course, great food abounds around here. We highly recommend family dinner at Pickett’s, falafel from Chutzpah Kitchen, sandwiches from Baker’s Street Market, and everything at The Bread Stand and Yellow Rose Vegan Bakery.

We’ve taken great care in making this house our own and adding improvements to the many thoughtful updates made over the years. Our plan was to make this our forever home, but life has taken us down a different path. We are genuinely sad to say goodbye, and hope you can find as much joy living here in this home and neighborhood as we have.
