To the Future Homeowners of 73 South Pierson Road, This house has been maintained and loved throughout our 34 years of owning this property. We chose Maplewood because many family members already living in town told us about this special place. The house back when we purchased it needed a lot of renovations. In the later 1980s we upgraded the plumbing, electrical system, kitchen, bathrooms, flooring, and outside drainage system, to name just a few. In 1989 we brought home our first puppy, then in 1992 we had our first child here. Our second son was born just 14 months later! This location was found to be very convenient. We are within minutes to the elementary school, Memorial Park, Maplewood Village, and steps away from all the shops and restaurants on Springfield Avenue. In addition, our home is near the Midtown Direct Service to New York. We have taken many train rides back and forth into the City or sometimes we have just enjoyed taking walks into town to watch the trains come rolling through (our older son is a train buff and Maplewood is a great train watching spot!!). Many spring and summer nights after watching trains, we would stop at the Village Ice Cream parlor before heading home to enjoy a delicious treat with our children. Of course we have also enjoyed many meals at Village Trattoria, Arturos, Coda Kitchen and Bar, and surely we cannot forget the delicious Parkwood Diner, which is just across the street! Since our one child has moved into his own home and possibly our other son is in the process, it is time for us to downsize and start our new adventure. We will truly miss this beautiful community and all the great things it has to offer.
